Task 12

Portraiture

From the first phase of the course, this task allows students to present a portrait after researching and collecting own visual references for the study.

Most are directed to complete a self portrait to add a narrative and purpose to the piece, whilst others may decide to do someone else in their family, or a friend.

These tasks are not compulsory, but they do offer experience in a range of media and give contextual awareness to their work.

As you can see from this video, there are many different outcomes that are produced as a result of this research, and we love them all! Media, technique, scale and subject are all the choice of the students.
