Arte Sonsoles is a creative, welcoming art school and workshop in San Pedro Alcántara, founded in 2017 by artist-educator Sonsoles Ruiz. The school strives to nurture each student’s creativity in a comfortable, relaxed setting, regardless of age or skill level. Beyond classes, Arte Sonsoles hosts exhibitions, birthday parties, and a variety of artistic events, all designed to be fun and expressive. Sonsoles herself brings rich artistic experience — trained in mural art in Madrid, specialising for years in decorative painting and illustration, and continues to refine her craft across media like pastel, watercolour, oil, and acrylic.

Sonsoles Ruiz — Painter, educator, and entrepreneur based in Marbella. Founder of Arte Sonsoles Escuela-Taller, she mentors students of all ages in a space where technique meets emotion. Trained in mural art in Madrid, she later spent over a decade in decorative painting and custom finishes before shifting her focus to easel painting in 2017. Skilled in pastel, charcoal, watercolor, oil, acrylic, and ink, she works across portrait, landscape, figure, and abstract forms, adapting each medium to the needs of her creative vision.

Additional Workshops

At Arte Sonsoles, we offer a variety of workshops and programs designed for all ages and levels:

Intensive Workshops with Guest Artists
Throughout the year, we host 3-day (minimum) intensive workshops led by well-known national and international artists. These workshops are a unique opportunity to learn directly from professionals, explore new techniques, and deepen your artistic practice.

Children’s Monthly Saturday Workshops
Once a month, on Saturdays, we organize special workshops for children ages 4 to 11. A creative space to explore drawing, painting, and different artistic techniques in a fun and inspiring way.

Children’s Summer Workshops – July
During the month of July, we also run a special summer program for children ages 4 to 11, where they can enjoy art activities in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
