Artists’ Clinic Barcelona

About Centre

Artists’ Clinic Barcelona is an official OCAD Centre offering an immersive learning environment that combines mentoring, practical workshops, portfolio reviews and creative experiences across the city.

Rather than operating from a single permanent studio, learning takes place in carefully selected locations throughout Barcelona, including artists’ studios, workshop spaces, exhibition spaces and museums. This flexible approach allows each learning experience to be tailored to the individual needs of the student while reflecting the dynamic nature of contemporary photographic practice.

Whether students are pursuing commercial photography, fine art photography or developing a broader artistic practice, Artists’ Clinic Barcelona provides a supportive learning environment where technical skills, conceptual thinking and creative confidence develop together through hands-on, site-specific experiences tailored to each student’s goals. In addition to photography, students can also benefit from portfolio reviews, creative mentoring and professional development designed to support long-term artistic growth.

Ioana Vrabie is a contemporary visual artist, educator and mentor based in Barcelona. Working primarily with analogue multiple-exposure photography, her practice explores identity, memory, movement and the experience of living between places. Her work has been exhibited and is held in private collections internationally.

Trained in photography at the University of the Arts London, she has extensive knowledge and professional experience in both commercial and fine art photographic practice. For the past five years, Ioana has mentored photographers and visual artists through portfolio reviews, one-to-one mentoring and workshops, supporting them at every stage of their creative journey.

Through Artists’ Clinic Barcelona, an official OCAD Centre, she provides practical and conceptual learning experiences in photography, including experimental photographic techniques, helping students develop technical skills, strengthen their creative voice and build a confident, sustainable artistic and professional practice.
