Marta Baldacchino is a Maltese artist who recently completed a B.A. (Hons.) in Fine Arts with History of Art from the University of Malta. Specialising in painting, drawing, illustration, and sculpture, her artistic practice is centred on material exploration. Process, texture, and experimentation play a significant role in the development of her work, complemented by an ongoing fascination with the evolving Maltese identity, which continues to inform her creative practice.
Previously, she has participated in a number of exhibitions across the island, including but not limited to her project ‘Metamorphosis’, developed as part of her thesis and exhibited in the group exhibition ‘Dwelling With’ and ‘Manual Camouflage’, presented in the group exhibitionm‘Dynamic Shifts’.
Baldacchino currently runs It-Tila Art Studio in the traditional fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Situated in one of Malta’s most picturesque artistic locations, the studio offers students the opportunity to develop their practice while drawing inspiration from the immediate landscape that has shaped generations of artists.
