About Centre

Studio 001 is a vibrant and inspiring art studio located in Montreal. Our mission is to provide a creative, welcoming, and inclusive environment where artists of all ages and skill levels can explore their artistic passions, develop their skills, and express themselves through a variety of creative disciplines.

Working in partnership with Paramount Study, Studio 001 offers high-quality art education, portfolio preparation, and specialist workshops designed to support students pursuing personal artistic development as well as those preparing for admission to art, architecture, and design programs. Our studio encourages creativity, experimentation, and confidence-building through hands-on learning experiences guided by experienced instructors.

Gefei Zhang

Gefei Zhang is a multimedia designer and artist whose allegorical paintings bring a fresh and natural aesthetic to the spaces they inhabit. Her strong sense of design and visual harmony allows her to create highly decorative works that balance elegance with emotional expression.

Using vibrant colors and experimental painting techniques, Gefei explores a wide range of feelings, experiences, and ideas. Her passion for painting serves as a powerful creative outlet, allowing her to continually push artistic boundaries while inspiring students to develop confidence, creativity, and technical skill in their own artistic journeys.

Together, the artists and instructors at Studio 001 bring a diverse range of creative experiences and artistic perspectives to the studio. Their combined expertise supports students in developing strong technical skills, building compelling portfolios, and exploring contemporary artistic practices within a welcoming and inspiring learning environment.

Maya Penzlik

Maya Penzlik is a talented artist and illustrator based in Montreal. She creates beautiful, whimsical paintings featuring colorful characters and dreamlike landscapes filled with life, imagination, and wonder. Maya draws inspiration from her dreams, treasured childhood memories, and a constant desire to discover new places and experiences. Her artistic practice is also deeply influenced by the special moments she shares with her daughter, Eva.

Through her work, Maya invites viewers into enchanting worlds that celebrate creativity, storytelling, and emotional connection. As an educator, she encourages students to embrace their imagination and develop their own unique artistic voice while building strong technical foundations.
