GCSE/BTEC Equivalent
The SEND online Level 2 Certificate in Design (GCSE/BTEC equivalent) is a fun one year beginner to intermediate design course. The course offers creative pupils the chance to achieve nationally accredited courses from home. The course is offered to cater for the individual needs of SEND students and unlike the standard Level 2 course, offers a SENDCO, more tutor time, additional bespoke learning materials, progress reports and attendance to online meetings with local authorities. OCAD works with most local authorities in the UK and can be added as a named provider to EHCPs.
You can study flexibly at times that suit you over one year. The course is equivalent to GCSE / IGCSE and will offer the same opportunities for progression to our Foundation Diploma courses. The main reason students choose the Level 2 certificate over IGCSE is that it is far less problematic to deliver online as there is no exam to attend. Instead, coursework is assessed online by the exam board examiner. This means the course is ideal for students who suffer from exam stress and for those who don’t work well under pressure.
This exciting course has a strong practical focus, developing not just skills, knowledge, and understanding of art and design and the work of other artists, but also confidence. Successful completion of the course means you will receive the same level 2 Certificate as from any other college as the course is nationally accredited by one of the UK’s largest vocational awarding bodies, SEG ABC Awards.
