Task 04 – Graphite Still Life – Student Work

Skill building is what the first portfolio on the Level 2 Certificate in Art and design is all about! Observation brings a lot of skills and it is not just about being able to make things look ‘real’. Light direction, leading lines and other compositional techniques, use of universal forms and textures in artwork, planning/cropping/filtering, using a view finder…they all support the development of emerging artists. So whilst this work is incredible, and we are so proud of the talent we have on our courses, it is the journey and the progress that matters most!
